The President of the Miss Universe Organization hereby announces that, effective immediately, it has decided to withdraw its administrative operations from Mexico City and relocate them back to the Organization’s headquarters in New York, where they have historically always been based.

This decision follows a thorough and responsible assessment of the current conditions in Mexico, which do not provide an adequate or stable environment for the safe and effective operation of an international organization of this scale. Among the factors considered are legal uncertainty, the current security situation, and unfounded and politically motivated attacks that have compromised the institutional framework required for long-term operational stability and global projection.

The administrative presence in Mexico was originally established to support the New York headquarters and, in the medium term, to evolve into a global operational base for an organization with 74 years of history, prestige, and international leadership. The initiative also aimed to create employment, generate economic impact for the country, and offer global exposure opportunities. However, Mexico has lost this opportunity. As a result of this decision, existing staff will be relocated where possible, or new personnel will be hired in New York and other regions where the Organization maintains operational presence.

Regrettably, under the current circumstances, this vision could not be realized while meeting the governance, stability, and institutional standards required by the Miss Universe Organization.

The Miss Universe Organization reaffirms its commitment to excellence, institutional integrity, and the protection of its legacy. From New York, it will continue to operate with the with professional excellence, leadership, and global reach that have defined the Organization for more than seven decades.

Mexico has lost the opportunity to establish itself as a strategic center within one of the world’s most recognized global organizations. This decision has been made firmly, responsibly, and with the long-term future of the Miss Universe Organization as the guiding priority.

Finally, the office of the President wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the countries that have demonstrated their support, trust, and openness, and that have formally communicated their willingness to host and operate Miss Universe offices within their territories. We deeply appreciate the solidarity shown during this process, which reaffirms the global strength of the Miss Universe community and its shared commitment to collaboration, stability, and mutual respect. The Miss Universe Organization will announce shortly the country in which its subsidiary corporate offices will be established.

The Miss Universe Organization announces the appointment of Ms. María José Unda as the new Vice President of International Relations. With a background in global coordination and talent development within the organization, María José brings valuable experience, vision, and a deep commitment to strengthening international partnerships.

Since joining the Miss Universe Organization two years ago, María José has worked closely with National Directors around the world, serving as a liaison between the Organization and local franchises. In this role, she has been instrumental in fostering collaboration, enhancing communication, and ensuring alignment between global objectives and local operations.

Six months ago, María José began traveling internationally with Miss Universe in her role as Talent Development Director. This position provided her with an in-depth understanding of local pageants, allowed her to further strengthen relationships with National Directors, and, most notably, gave her the opportunity to personally connect with, guide, and support the 120 delegates who participated in the 74th edition of Miss Universe. This hands-on experience has enriched her perspective and reinforced her dedication to empowering contestants and supporting national organizations worldwide.

The Miss Universe Organization announces that Mr. Mario Búcaro has concluded his tenure as Chief Executive Officer, a role he assumed in November of this year, marking the close of a period of institutional service during which he carried out key operational leadership responsibilities in the production of the 74th Miss Universe competition, held in Bangkok, Thailand.

During his tenure, Mr. Búcaro contributed significantly to the coordination of local and international teams, the strengthening of strategic alliances, and the creation of effective channels of dialogue among cultures, sponsors, institutional partners, media outlets, and a global community committed to the empowerment of women.

The Miss Universe Organization and the family of Dr. Gabrielle Henry, Miss Jamaica Universe 2025, wish to share this update on her condition and care she continues to receive.

Dr. Henry suffered a serious fall through an opening on the stage while performing her walk during the preliminary competition on November 19, 2025, resulting in an intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and other significant injuries. She was immediately admitted to intensive care in Bangkok, where she remained in critical condition under constant neurological monitoring, and continues to require 24-hour specialist supervision.

She will return to Jamaica in the coming days accompanied by a full medical escort team and will be transferred directly to hospital for continued treatment and recovery.

From the time the incident took place, the Miss Universe Organization has stood beside Gabrielle and her family as if she were their own, assuming full and immediate responsibility without hesitation. The Organization has covered all hospital, medical, and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as the accommodation and living costs for Dr. Henry’s mother and sister, who have remained by her side throughout this difficult period. In addition, the Miss Universe Organization is funding the medically escorted repatriation flight arranged by the hospital and has committed to covering all future medical expenses arising from this incident.

The Henry family is deeply grateful to the Miss Universe Organization for their unwavering compassion, presence, and love shown. Their response so far has gone beyond professional responsibility and reflected devotion and protection of the family.

Certain media reports suggesting that Dr. Henry contributed in any way to the incident are entirely inaccurate. The Miss Universe Organization has never attributed blame to Dr Henry and confirms that those suggestions are unfounded and do not reflect the facts.

Dr. Henry and her family extend their heartfelt thanks to the people of Jamaica, the Miss Universe community, and supporters worldwide for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and encouragement.

Miss Universe Organization Addresses False Claims Regarding Ownership and Control

The Miss Universe Organization issues this statement in response to recent communications, social media posts, and widespread media reports including those circulated in Thailand by TCG Social Media Group Company Limited that incorrectly suggest the company has purchased, or is in the process of purchasing, the rights to the Miss Universe Organization.

These assertions are incorrect and do not reflect the facts or the official position of the Miss Universe Organization.

MUO is a privately held and fully independent company. Its ownership structure is clearly established and duly registered with the relevant corporate authorities in its jurisdiction. While we are aware of event invitations and communications circulated by TCG Social Media Group Company Limited suggesting an interest in the Miss Universe Organization, no individual, company, or group including TCG or its representatives has acquired any ownership interest, license, management rights, or control over the Miss Universe brand, the Miss Universe Organization, or any related intellectual property.

There is no agreement, contract, share purchase, transfer of rights, or ongoing negotiation with TCG Social Media Group Company Limited regarding the sale or acquisition of the Miss Universe Organization or any of its assets. Any materials or announcements implying such a relationship are inaccurate and do not originate from MUO.

Any announcement, press invitation or publicity material that claims or implies that a third party has purchased, controls or represents the Miss Universe Organization, when it has not been issued or expressly confirmed by the Miss Universe Organization, is false and misleading. Such communications create confusion among our partners, licensees, national directors, contestants, sponsors, media and the public, and may constitute a violation of intellectual property and other applicable laws.

In light of recent public statements and social media posts, the Miss Universe Organization considers it necessary to clarify certain inaccuracies regarding the Beyond the Crown Program and the official judging processes of the Seventy Four Miss Universe competition.

On 17 November, the Miss Universe Organization publicly released the official selection committee of the Beyond the Crown Program, an independent social impact initiative designed to promote leadership, service, education, health, inclusion, and meaningful support for charitable causes. This program operates entirely separately from the Miss Universe competition and from the official judging panel.

Following this announcement, Mr. Omar Harfuch, who had previously agreed to serve as one of the eight official members of the Miss Universe judging panel, published a statement expressing confusion and claiming lack of understanding regarding the scope and nature of a social impact program such as Beyond the Crown. His comments incorrectly suggested that an unauthorized or impromptu jury had been formed and that the official judges had been excluded from the selection of finalists.

The Miss Universe Organization firmly clarifies that no impromptu jury has been created, that no external group has been authorized to evaluate delegates or select finalists, and that all competition evaluations continue to follow the established, transparent, and supervised MUO protocols.

Given Mr. Harfuch’s expressed confusion, his public mischaracterization of the program, and his stated desire not to participate, the Miss Universe Organization respectfully acknowledges his withdrawal from the official judging panel. Effective immediately, Mr. Harfuch is prohibited from using, displaying, referencing, or associating himself with any Miss Universe trademarks, service marks, logos, titles, or registered properties, in any format, medium, or communication, whether digital, written, or verbal. Any continued use will be considered unauthorized and subject to the applicable legal actions and protections afforded to the Miss Universe Organization.

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has been informed of the public circulation and misuse of an official letter dated October 29, 2025, originally issued exclusively to confirm a temporary authorization granted to the company Are One Inc., represented by Mr. Julio César Cruz, as franchisee for Miss Universe Cuba.

MUO wishes to clarify that the aforementioned letter was strictly intended for internal and sponsorship-related purposes associated with the organization and promotion of the 74th Miss Universe Competition. It was not authorized for public release, media distribution, or representation in any context beyond those specific functions.

As outlined in the existing agreement, the contractual authorization granted to Are One Inc. expires on November 22, 2025, unless formally renewed in writing by the Miss Universe Organization. Any continued use of the Organization’s name, logo, image, or correspondence beyond that date will be considered a violation of the terms and conditions of said agreement.

Furthermore, the Miss Universe Organization clarifies that no agreement, negotiation, or contract related to the 75th Miss Universe Competition (2026) has been issued, signed, or authorized. Mr. Búcaro succeeds Ms. Anne Jakrajutatip, who stepped down on June 20, 2025.
